First Winter Tarp

I made my frist tarp, actually my mom made it for me. Her stitching is much straighter than mine. its 10ft by 9 and 3/4 ft. the tie outs for the doors are 3 and 1/2 foot back from the corner edges. This definitely gives me a lot of fabric crossing over when closed. I'm not sure what the name of the tie outs that are on the middle of the tarp, but i haven't placed those yet because i'm not sure wheres the best place. Any suggestions?

You are obviously having way too good a time with your tarp. Congrats to you and your Mom. What is it made from? The tie-outs look very functional.

half is no rip nylon and the other half is some type of nylon. I think its material that was intended for clothing. I bought it at a place here in portland in their discount section which didn't provide any information about the fabrics. It was only 4.50 a yard for already treated material! If anyone lives near Portland, Oregon go to Fabric Depot to get DIY material.

Shug- How did you seal the areas whee the needle from your sewing machine punctured the material? I've noticed some guys have mixed mineral spirits with clear silicone and was wondering if I just apply strait silicone to the stitches, of corse making sure to not apply to much, I'll be fine and the fabric still flexible.

That Pappy's mom was kind enough to do some sewing for me as well... here is the result, the material is more heavy duty than silnylon (this thing weighs about 42 oz) but i can blame that on Pappy. We are already scheming a DIY gear supply order. Our wives are ecstatic.
