Need some help with whoopie sings for HH

So I am going to try my first DIY project to make some whoopies for my HH, just a quick question how long of a space should i leave between the locked brummel loop and the adjustable bury to have enough space to rig it to the HH? I know you have to leave more space than for a normal gathered end hammock, just not sure what I should use as a starting place. Thanks for the help. (plan is for 10' whoopies, 4in bury after brummel and a 9 inch adjustable bury) any other pointers would be helpful, I have a guitar string for a fid, and 100' of amsteel, I am fairly familiar with doing halyard splices on a sailboat.

Here are my notes on the whoopies I made. I marked up 12" from the end of my fixed eye. That would be the end of my adjustable bury. So, after putting them on my HH & the hammock end covers. I have a 2" space before the adjustable bury.

I would be interested in that link as well. I am awating my HH Explorer and would like to cut it over to Whoopie Slings and use my tree slings when I get it.

i have seen that one, but he just makes it as he goes along, and not with a locked brummel. I can hash it out myself but was wondering if there was someone with previous experience that had a good reccomendation.

When I converted my HH, I created the locked brummel and went ahead and wrapped and secured to the HH, installed the end cover and then marked for the bury. I have an indoor hammock stand that is shy of 13 ft, so it was important to keep the bury as close to the HH as possible so it would fit.

Marking the exit point on the adjustable end after doing the wrap through on the hammock makes sense. I think I will just do that and then remove and measure and post the distance later for my HH Explorer.

I have found that a Wallyworld yarn needle works just fine to use when fishing the splice through.

Also, I found that the spreadsheet at this link http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/a...0&d=1299872378 was really helpful. I was able to type in the numbers and it did the calculations and I keep a copy in my DIY binder.
