Neat Sheet instead of nylon for quilt?

It would be cheaper than getting 1.1 nylon and I've read good reviews on the Neat Sheets. I can get the 57"x77" sheets at Wegmans for $8. Get two Neat Sheets, remove the weights, add a sheet of insulation between the Neat Sheets, sew it up, summer quilt done! I'd like to try it for a summer quilt first and then if it works well I'd go for a winter top-quilt. I saw the Headchange4u's multi-quilt using Neat Sheets. Anybody else using/used Neat Sheets to make a top-quilt?

Headchange4U wrote an article here specifically about making a quilt from a Neat Sheet. I don't know where that article went to, but maybe it's still around here somewhere.

    Here it is: link

I'm sure a NS would work with synthetic insulation, But I don't know if I would use down.

HC4U, do you remember what size needle you used for your NS Quilt? Also, how is the NS quilt holding up? Thanks.

I buy my Singer needles in a pack that comes in 3 sizes. I used the largest one (16 I think) in the pack.

16?! **** that sounds pretty big to me but what do I know. I'm just starting out. I just picked up my materials and got size 10 needles since they were out of 9's. I'm liking the Neat Sheet. I tried pulling/testing the material and it appears durable enough for a top-quilt. I'm stoked to get her going. Gotta get some Climashield next. Yeah, baby!

I checked and it is the 100/16 size. The pack of needles that I buy contains 4 x 80/11 which I use for thin materials like silnylon and such, 2 x 90/14, and 2 x 100/16.
