yeah this is a 3 way affair LOL
Dutch didn't have the time and i do so i made it for him since he always takes care of me with Dutchware ... so it's the least i can do for him

i think mine Grizz i'm going to tape it like you did i didn't like sewing the Cuben ... i just feel like it's too weak... i'm sure it will last but i'm just not sold on sewing really light cuben

i think Dutch told me this stuff was .31 a yard it's like plastic wrap LOL and i'm not joking

My UQ is a modified nanatuk down bag transformed into a UQ. I used the .33 Cuben sewed to the bottom of the UQ. The Cuben is the outer bottom layer. Cuben, light Momentum? down, top of quilt, (momentum?), Hammock..I feel the C needs to be the outer layer as a protection against blowing rain, and it also is an excellent wind stopper. I do not see how this could ever have any condensation probs. vapor goes up.Seems to work well, the light C adds at most .6 oz, the C is sewn only on the outer edges of the UQ, no prob. sewing, and you are never laying against the C. gnome

Oh it can be done LOL .... i have Pics

I would call it more of a 2/3 length really since it's under 50 inch long

yeah the Cuben helps my personal Winter UQ is 6 inch shorter and only 8oz of down it's 40x42 it covers from shoulders to above my knee and comes in at 15.6oz LOL i was cutting it close with that one but it's for Hiking so i wanted to cut weight as much as i can .... i carry a pad anyway so it works out nice... and for deep winter car camping i'm going to put my Stealth over that for added warmth so with the Stealth i'll have 6+ inch of loft under me

Also i got away with using only 10.5 oz of down cause i put more in the middle 4 chambers to max out core warmth .... i just tried it not too long ago in the basement and it have LOTS of loft under her LOL.... man she is going to be warm

G.L.P. this looks really great. I cannot wait to try it out. It is my first real winter UQ. It will work for a WBBB and my Switchback? I think on the BB it will get me down to really cold (technical term), especially with a Top Cover on and a layer of insultec or two. Thank you for doing such a great job.

hey i didn't see this post next time PM me LOL
yeah it will work with either hammock no problem ... i left a Lot of shock cord on it so you can make knots in it to fit the size you need
i think with this and an Undercover you should be good at 0F easy ....
i would be careful taking it out of a stuff sack... make sure you pull it out easy so you don't rip the Cuben .... it will need extra special care
glad you like it .... might be heading up to the 501 shelter this weekend ... i'll let you know tomorrow if i am ... maybe we can give it a good test run
