Very nice G.L.P. I'm without a place in my house to hang but have two perfect trees in the back yard.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

It's almost zero in Colorado tonight...who wants to hang inside?! That's campin' weather! (except I can't camp right now... )

I have a Byer Vario hammock stand for my indoor hangs. I've been thinking about putting eyebolts in the walls, though. CINCHOUSE has been very...lukewarm, we'll say...to the idea, so I think it might affect my allowance if I do it without permission. Right now she's still telling me, "Do whatever you want." Which, as every married man knows, means exactly the opposite of what it sounds like it means.
“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story

GLP, may I ask how big you are? I'm trying to figure if I did something in our basement if it'd hold me.

    Nice setup!

    Nice setup!
i'm 215lbs .... i think from playing around with it and trying to pull on it it should hold 250-275lbs .... i would try to stay under 250lbs just to be safe
i used 300lbs weight limit Eye bolts and they are holding up find
i use a 8 foot long 8x6x3/4 deck plank used to make decks it's treated ... there is no need for it to be treated but just happen that thats all they had at Lowe's at the time i used two and a half inch long deck screws 2 in each beam
i pre drilled the holes in the plank so it would not split and drilled out a hole with a wood bit for the half inch Eye Bolt ... i set it so it's in the middle so the weight would be spread out even
it's very solid like i siad i tried to pull it off it's solid cost was about $20 total
took about 15-20 min to do ... i put straps though the eye hole and i'm using a marlin spike hitch
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
