I first started researching hammock camping 2 years ago. I received my 4th hammock last week and have a new TQ and UQ on order. I've tried several variations of quilts, tarps and suspension options and have gone through countless stove variations. My first UQ was DIY. It taught me that I can't really save money going that route. I originally wasn't concerned with weight, but started down the path of lightening my load. Fortunately, I've been able to sell stuff as when I want to try something different.
I feel that hammock camping is a journey and not a destination. You will grow and evolve the more you experience it.
Welcome to the madness.

My family finds my Christmas list quite strange this year. Granted it certainly isn't even close to my normal requests....but they look at me strange, and I think they're very confused by it. My mom thought it was a joke. I've gone from make up and hair things....to cordage and tin snips Thanks hammock forums
haha, I know the feeling!!
Whenever I get overwhelmed by evaluating gear choices on here and ultralightbackpacking the only thing to do is go backpack & hang. But try not to look at anyone else's setup while you're out there, it'll just get you thinking about hammockforums again.
