    New half cuben UQ

Here is the latest UQ i made it's for Dutch comes in at 17.5oz 4 inch of Loft it's 40x48 with 3 inch baffles and Differ. cut should be good down to around 0F
i used 10.5oz of 800 fill down there is 1 oz per chamber in the 4 outside chambers (2 on each side) and a little over 1.5oz in the center 4 chambers for Max core warmth and loft so no CBS with this bad boy
used very light Cuben i think the .51 stuff to be honest i didn't like sewing it i ran into a few problems with it coming a part at stitch points should be an easy fix with some Cuben tape

overall it came out nice the only thing i don't like is the channels for the suspension .... i should have used Grossgrain but ti's more for looks than anything (OCD)

Sorry G.L.P. for hijacking this thread and re-posting this but I am really hoping that you can help answer this for me:

Not sure if this follows the thread entirely (my apologies if not) but I am having a harder time envisioning how you close off the ends of the baffles (in a differential quilt) so that the baffles are in fact closed and no down can migrate - and the loft remains at the edges. Or does anyone even bother?

Is it sewn top and bottom but also all the way to the end and down the extra material of the larger piece of quilt? (I may very well be babbling right now)!

Would a PM be better? Thanks for any help - anything would be appreciated!

    No problem Dragon

the ends of the baffles are sewn to the fabric if you look close you can see it
you can get away without doing it but i sometimes do ... and being the baffles are big and there is a lot of down i like to do it to prevent migration of the down ... so yes they are sewn the entire way around

Can't thank you enough! Been racking my brain and poring over the site for this little detail.

Appreciate the offer - I will most certainly do that if you're cool with it.
