    Hello from Ontario, Canada!

    Hello all,

After being turned off from camping because of a few consecutive rainy nights, I'm gonna give it another go. This time, I'll be trying a hammock to see if it'll work for me. It's kinda chilly here now, so I'll probably try it inside first, while I wait for Spring.

Looking forward to learning all about this brave, new world.

    Hi from Toronto!!!

In case you're interested, a group of hangers from southern Ontario, from Ottawa to Kingston, Oshawa to London seem to have managed to meet every three or four months for some kind of group hang. All are welcome. Watch for a EGL Winter 2012 Trip Planning thread to start up pretty soon. We're still throwing around ideas, but a two-nighter sometime in Jan/Feb somewhere in the Algonquin region looks likely. Should be fun lots of fun.

    Cheers

Hello and welcome form London, ON. As Chard said, there is a pretty active group in Ontario so there will be opportunities to meet fellow members, check out gear and generally have a good time enjoying the outdoors.

    Welcome from Vancouver Island!
I can't buy something without first considering whether I could just make it myself instead. How'd I get so screwed up?

Welcome! With proper planning and gear it is very possible to camp comfortably in cold weather. Spend some time looking around here on HF and you will find a wealth of information on the subject.
