New guy here first hang done

I finaly got to try out my HH explore last weekend. However before I go into detais about that let me tell yall a little about how the first hang came about.

I'm a mechanic who enjoys backpacking and the out doors in general, I'm on a rotating shift working 12hrs shifts nights or days. Last weekend over easter we had a lot of company around the house... and I was on nights. No sleep to be had in doors so saturday after getting woken up several times I decided to hang my hammock in our barn loft. (would have gone outside but I find it difficult to sleep when the sun is out) 2 days out there and I was almost disipointed to come back to my bed when I got through with the weekend.

I hung the HH from the 2X12 rafters with the suspension as close to 30* as I could get it. Even though it wasnt the ideal tension I slept great and was very comfortable. Temps ranged from 30* in the morning to abot 50* in the afternoon, I was using a 20* mummy bag and a thermarest pad. Didnt get cold but I am definatly going to be making an under quilt in the near future.
I strung an old sleeping bag under the hammock as a makeshift underquilt when i got some time off work and the differencee was night and day.

I'm looking forward to this summer and fall when I'm able to get out into the woods again and really enjoy the out doors with out the back pains I used to get as a ground dweller.

Even after 2 days I'm glad I made the switch, 2 days in a tent while working 6pm to 6am would have about done me in. In the hammock it was a breeze

I'm looking forward to hanging this summer, I remember a lot of spots that would have been great to camp at but were littered with rocks, tree roots and werent level enough for a tent... but a hammock, no problem
