After the USPS tried to deliver the Mega Ogee half a city away, I wasn't sure if I would ever see the tarp. But they came through in the end and it ended up on my doorstep today.
Gargoyle was great throughout the entire process, with good and fast communication from ordering, stages of procurement and construction to delivery. His work is top notch and the attention to detail is great. Even the stuff sack is excellent quality with plenty of room to squish the tarp down. I especially like the short line of orange stitching on the two primary connection points to help orient the tarp.
As shipped, the Mega Ogee weighed 15 5/8 ounces in gray silnylon. With twelve (yes, twelve!) 6.5' guy lines attached, it weighs 16 7/8 ounces. I haven't seam sealed the two triangles yet.
This tarp is GIANT with very versatile tie outs and setups. I could only set it up in my backyard where there is just one tree. So I strung it from one five foot tall fence post to another five foot tall fence post, and while it let me experiment with the setup options, the picture really doesn't do justice to the awesomeness of this tarp.
I can't wait to try it out in the field to get some good pictures and a more thorough tryout. Next trip is New Years...it can't come soon enough!
