I was just thinking that! I have also discovered with mine that I can use them to close the ends of my hammock sock too.
The only drawback is if I have any condensation on my sock when packing up, I have to remove my sock & stuff separately. Or it gets everything else wet inside.

Been there done that.
I only needed to leave one nice set of straps and toggles on the tree to always check and double check these days.
Still an excellent review video of a great hammock kit.
Something I learned recently on a winter hang where the weather turn very bad, tons of wind and 20 degrees colder than expected was simplicity rules.
Your slug tube is a very easy way to keep everything all together and offers a quick take down in a storm.
