Personally....I waste no time on those chicken-cowardly internet trolls. They would never say that stuff to your face.
I too stay on here because of the way the Mods run it and they way the Members play the "high-road" game.

I think good moderating right from the get go was key. I know there is a lot more behind the scenes, but it seems like we are on cruise control of good attitudes.

Big shout out to Cannibal, he is the best moderator a good pastry can buy.

I 24th the notion - excellent community and thanks greatly in part to an amazing moderator group. I've poked around a lot of forums in the backpacking/camping world and this is the only one I feel like I'm a real part of the community.

As a noob, I have appreciated all of the helpful hints, advice, discussion and support. My wife asked me, "Why do you spend so much time reading Hammock Forums?" Then she read some of the posts and watched one of Shug's videos.

Her reply "Now I understand..."

Soon she will be hangin, as well as our daughters.

I'm a new member to HF but have been looking over my son (zane35)s shoulder for some time now and I am very impressed with the moderators and members of Hammock Forums.

I disagree with you all, but I will do it politely.

Thanks to the moderators and owners. I have attempted to operate a forum, and have friends who maintain forums. It is quite a bit of hard work. I appreciate what is done here at HF. It does help to have a mostly civilized bunch of members, but a few bad apples can spoil it for everyone.

You can't make chicken salad out of chicken trolls.

Keep up the good work, guys.

In the five years that this forum has operated, I know that my opinion will be respected whether I am right or wrong. That means a lot. A big thank you is sent to all of the mods. I am looking forward to the next five years...but can I afford it? Think about all the new hammocks and do-dads coming down the pike...
