I agree with the above comment. I would bet that 100% of the folks who use this forum have actually been sitting around a campfire sharing thoughts. I think we mostly approach our posts within that paradigm. I feel that, really, no one here uses anonymity as a divisive tool. We all own what we say. That indicates that we respect ourselves and we respect our fellow posters. We actually care what the others think about our ideas. And just as much, I think, we care what the others think about the way in which we present ourselves to each other. That mutual respect makes this a site which is enjoyable, exciting, enriching, and embracing.
agreed! I enjoy everything I read and really haven't met anyone...however, I feel like I know several of you!!
This is a very friendly forum. I use to browse White Blaze but it got to the point there that it seemed every time someone asked a question they were being attacked.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
+1
And all the evidence you need for the class act that is Hammock Forums is to see how quickly this 'thank the moderators' thread has grown. It's a pleasure to be here!
Thanks for your hard work mods! And classy members too!
Trolls??? I thought at first you were talking about the Mods. Cannibals avatar could pass as one!!
I have not been on a lot of forums, but sure love this one. The only changes that SHOULD be made are...............................ummmmmmmm....... .......hmmmmmmm can't think of any.

Great resource for valuable information and promoting outdoors!
I decided the best way to say thanks was to get one of those spiffy banners under my username.
Thank you all for making this a really nice website.
