Bannerstone: As to the cornbread, I've pre measured how much "wet" mix I can bake effectively in my cook-kit. I think it was a little more than 1/2 a cup wet. I use a silicone X Mug collapsed to the right height. I throw a few little rocks in my Evernew 600, add enough water to stay below the lip of the Xmug, and put the lid on. Get the water up to a boil and keep it there. I literally shave little mini-toothpicks to do a traditional doneness test! When they come out clean, it's cooked. The top is always moist (not dry like a regular oven) but it's cooked perfectly all the way through.

As two my fishing rig: Been fishing as long as I can remember, but I'm not a flyrod guy. I have an assortment of flys with me, and almost always end up using them, but I use one of THESE 7 foot badboys coupled with one of THESE in the 1000 size spooled with 4 lb flouro. Very versatile IMHO.

Hammockgear Cuben: Just got off the phone with Adam a bit ago, looks like it may be a shipping problem, but we'll see. I'm super excited for it to arrive.

Thanks for the nice comments. It was a great trip and I'm already looking forward to the next.

Thanks Body942, your method sounds very doable and practical. I gotta try it.

I was doing about the same as you on the light spinning gear until this summer someone with some real skill urged me to try an old split bamboo fly rod I had hanging on my wall for decoration. Now I'm totally hooked and looking for a packable small stream flyrod that has that "right feel." All that high tech spinning gear I own and it seems I like the feel of bamboo. Go figure.

Thanks again for the trip report, it was really excellent and if I could share that I received my HG cuben a few weeks ago and it's well worth the wait. You'll be wow'd!
