Alright, from my experience there. I think the best place is going to be in Loop B, where Buffalo Skipper mentioned. It's at the midpoint of the loop in the sharp curve. For the number of people coming, it would be fine I think. $6 per site. This spot is actually one site with many trees. And it's designed for groups. I never got ahold of the Ranger, doubt there will be any problems. I've never seen em there.

    Conecuh National Forest-Open Pond

I have hanged at Open Pond several times in the last few years. It is my favorite campground. Even full, it is a quiet and relaxing. The fee is $6.00
per pad that will easily accommodate three tents or hammocks. I know of
no policy concerning hammocks. More than likely, if you inquire with the
District Rangers or Montgomery about any such policy, one will be created!
The most popular area is Loop A; it is a primative area along the edge of the
lake. Bathhouses are convenient to any area. Camping around the pavillion or
any area not designated as "camping" area is forbidden and will be enforced.
First time visitors to Open Pond are in for a delightful experience!

Well I am ready. I have a bunch of firewood in my truck that I need to get split but seeing it shouldn't be cold it should be enough for us to cook on and such. Looking forward to this

Not sure of the address, but I got these coordinates from Google maps.

    (31.090628,-86.552482)

I have never been there, so I could be off on the exact location, just guessing based on what I see on Google maps.

Yes we need to bring firewood. The grounds have been well picked over. Not much to be found there.

Ok, I just talked to Mr. Dax the Ranger for Conecuh. Here's the scoop:

    1. Loop B is preferably for large scout groups or church groups.

    2. Preferably, we should stay in Loop A primitive camping sites. Must stay within 10 feet of the pad. Hammocks are allowed, as long as they are tree friendly. Preferrably no more than 2 or 3 per site. Primitive sites are $6 per site, not per person.

They are finished burning, so we don't have to worry about that.

So, we should try to get a few sites beside each other in Loop A for this group. There's plenty to pick from. If this fails, I doubt we'll catch any grief over occupying the large spot in Loop B.

We could also get some spots in Loop C or D, but they are for RV's and are more expensive, but they have water. Plenty of options.

I'll be there before dark on Friday the 20th. Roll Tide. Bring Firewood !!!!

Sounds like a plan, I am tentatively planning to drive down Friday after work, might be close to dark when I get there though. If I can't get away at a decent hour, then early Saturday morning. I will scrounge up all the firewood I can find also and bring it.

Do we want to make any plans for a group meal, or just everyone be on their own?

It appears that Mandy and I will be there next weekend. She will be starting a new job next week so we may be a late start on Friday. Looks like we will be arriving late, midnight or later so we will see yall Saturday morning...........let us know about what to bring for dinner or wood.
