Testing my new DIY wooden hammock stand

I used jjthedog plans (with some minor variations) and built a stand for around the house hammocking. I wanted to have enough width to cover my WBBB with my Superfly. The base is 10' long and the uprights are 8' long. Distance between hang point is around 16'.
It cost just over $100 for all the materials.
When it started snowing today I couldn't help myself and i had to get set up for the night. I will try to post some pics of the stand when I get the tarp and hammock put away.
Thanks to all the previous HF members that have posted thier stands, it really
    helped me a lot!

Nice. I like the larger size stands that allow a tarp to be used.

    I like it!

About that pink stuff on the uprights... Is that for problems you anticipate, or is it the result of experience?

That "pink stuff" is actually just a towel wrapped around the uprights to keep the tarp from contacting the uprights. I didn't want the abrasion wear on the tarp and this allows me the tightest seal on the ends. I will get some more photos posted later today.

I would expect to crash my head into the uprights at some point (probably really late at night). I thought some padding was a wonderful idea.

    More photos.

Since the base is 10' I can hang the WBBB as low as it will go and come no where close to hitting my head or feet on the upright support.
