Uber Noob with my first question

...at least the first that I have had the cajones to ask on here.

When I'm sleeping in a bed our on the ground I'm a side or belly sleeper. (as a side note, I snore like a bear, so my wife tells me, if I end up on my back) This is my biggest concern over getting a hammock and going the hammock camping route. Are there other belly sleepers who have converted to hanging? Is the conversion hard to make?

Side sleeping is no problem in just about any hammock, but for belly sleepers, I would recommend a bridge hammock like the Bear Mountain Bridge Hammock by JacksRBetter. You will have no problem in one of those. You can belly sleep in the other hammocks out there, but it takes time to get comfortable on your belly.

For belly sleeping there is nothing better than a bridge hammock. That said, I am a belly sleeper in a bed, but in a hammock I am a back sleeper or, very rarely, a side sleeper. I just find sleeping on my back in a hammock FAR more comfortable than sleeping on my back in a bed. Take a look and see if you can try one out to see how you feel.

I am a 3/4 belly sleeper in my bed so more belly than side but not completely. In a hammock I sleep sort of 45* to the side (mostly on my back but not completely) or the full side with my legs curled up in aids in spreading the fabric for a flatter lay. With a pillow this is very comfortable.

The bridge hammock can feel narrow as well. If you have broad shoulders. I liked the lay in the bridge but the seeming squeeze was not for me.

I'm all belly all night (no snoring though). I had the same worry but after a few hangs i felt real comfy sleeping on my back. After a good days hike you'll be snoozing in no time. As for the snoring, no worries i have yet to be at a hang where no one snored. In fact, its likely a prerequisite!!!

If you snore in a hammock does the stretched fabric reverberate like the cone of a speaker?

I sleep on my side...
I have/ or had just about every brand of hammock that is on the market and the best hammock for side and stomach sleeping is the BMBH, (for me) and I sleep in it now every night. I get the best night sleep in my BMBH but a very close second for me is the Switchback... I can get a very flat lay in a Wilderness Logics lite owl and can sleep very well on my side in it so that has to go into the mix as well.

I'm a total belly sleeper. I was also a big snorer (finally diagnosed with sleep apnea). I realized I was sleeping on my stomach due to breathing difficulties. Ended up getting a CPAP and viola, no more back sleeping problems. Funny thing is, when sleeping in a hammock, on my back, and without a machine, no problem! Best thing is, don't think I'm snoring either. At least none of the animals in the woods have complained yet!

I'm also a belly sleeper. I have no problem sleeping on my back (or sides) in my hammock (was out last night testing a new UQ). Don't know if I snore or not in the hammock but so far no bears have complained.
