    Double Duty Tarp

    Hi all,

What are the options for a hammock tarp that sets up easily on the ground as well? Preferably using trekking poles. I will do everything in my power to hang, but sometimes in certain areas, there's just no trees and the need to go to ground is strong.

Made of cuben would be really nice too!

Lots of tie outs, decent size, preferably have doors for hammocking (or at least the ability to close up). Basically I'm looking for something like the superfly made of cuben and in a more rectangular shape, as opposed to the current hex shape.

    Thanks!

Looks great, I wonder if it would be easy to setup on the ground though. I'll get in touch with them.

Regarding OES, I've tried contacting Brian several times and still nothing.

The truth is any tarp that you can string up for a hammock will work just as well on the ground. The exception being some of the really small asym tarps like the stock Hennessey Hammock tarps.

Thanks alot for the kind words Kobold.
To be fair, most any tarp can be used as a ground set up, it just takes practice.
but I am partial to the Ogees multi-dimension capabilities.

a non-cat tarp will offer best pitching options. cat cuts make it harder to get some pitches, not impossible, but harder. and with cuben, you dont get sag so cat cuts seem to do nothing but reduce coverage/weight.

my zpacks was the first choice, the lightest cuben (.54) and lowest cost of the 4 i shopped for.
