Video: GSMNP Deep Creek-Martins Gap-Sunkota Ridge

    Another loop in the Smokies.
This vid has a couple of shots of the HammockGear Winter Palace (WaterMonkey influence), a NimbleWill Nomad in Ti, the Smokeeater Mini-Heat and some retro gear-a Jansport D3, an Optimus 99r, and a Snugfit.
I'd never used the Snugfit in the field-friends have borrowed it, so before the hike I searched here at HF to see if it had been used with a BlackBird. Let me tell you no matter how hard I tried with elbows and knees in any position I could not create a cold spot. I'm thinking the Snugfit with the LeighLo 0F inside a sock should rule the cold.
I also realized that on any trip Dutch is with me-Dutch Biners, Dutch Clips, Dutch Flyz's---thanks Dutch, and thanks to Stormcrow and Thorwen for a light translucent piece of art-their latest tarp is the current zupsptize of tarping.

Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing. It looks like you had the trails all to yourself. I like to get out to places where I don't run into too many others.

GSMNP is huge as you might know. This time of year you could go a week and not see a soul yet the park service is saying the campsites are over run and want to begin a fee for backcountry use. GSMNP was set up forever free....looks like forever is close.

Retro... Looked like the old H frame packs! I’ve got one of those! It was my first ever pack. 900 miles of tracks is a lot of tracks – a hikers heaven. I liked you 2000 miles to hike the 900 miles calculation. lol Thanks for the video MedicineMan, it was great, but could have been longer! The Smokey Mountains National Park is world famous and I’d like to see more of it.

I enjoyed the video. I have been to the GSMNP four times by motorcycle. I cannot wait to hike some of the trails. Your video has me wanting a Winter Palace now. Looks like the ultimate tarp. Thanks for sharing your experience.
