Do You Have A Hammock INSIDE Your Home?

I noticed while looking through the picture's on Mirage's site I noticed that he had a couple of large eye bolts screwed into the walls of his home on which he could hang his hammock.

I would really like to have a place inside my home where I could go stretch out on a hammock and read a book or take a nap. The bad part is that I would have to put large holes in may wall to do this. My wife would also probably kill me if I did something like that, but my computer room/guest bedroom would look awfully nice with my Byer Amazona hanging in there, IMHO.

Do any of you guys and gals have a place inside your home where you can hang a hammock? Got any ideas on how to hang a hammock in the home without destroying the walls or having a huge stand that takes up a lot of space?

I've got my HH hanging in the basement, and I can take nice breaks from the hubbub upstairs in it. I have exposed beams in the ceiling down there, and drilled holes in two of them just big enough for the ropes to fit through. I tie off with the figure 8 knot, and am good to go.

That won't help you with your computer room/guest bedroom setup perhaps, but I thought I'd toss this out there as just another idea.

I got a Vario hammock stand. It's usually in the sunroom, but I've also slept in the living room, garage and even bedroom in it. Not so permanent as the eyebolts so your wife may let it slide. Quite a bit more expensive than some $2 eyebolts, though.

I have used a small gate hinge from the hardware store. Mounted to the wall with three 2 in sheet-rock screws into a stud. Left the hinging part hanging down. I hinge it out and clip in the hammock with a carabiner. When not in use the hinge is covered by a painting.

Have you ever tried doing crunches in a hammock? Really hits those stabilizer muscles.

I thought about hanging in my basement, but I don't relish the thought of competing with all the camel crickets...
