yeah, maybe she should resign from Bpacker mag and go to work for the White House. She'd fit right in.

Backbreaker magazine has a repution for being very slow to react to changes in hiking styles and beliefs. It took years for them to do a small article featuring the "crazy and on the edge of doom style of lightweight hiking". The result was about the same as this one about hammocks. They also are not into the DIY scene. IMHO it a a yuppie style outdoor mag. I don't trust any of their reviews because they accept advertisments. The cottage industries cannot afford to compete with the ads that the big guys have so guess who has more influence on content. They are not going to bite the hand that feeds them by suggesting that you make something yourself or that you change your style of hiking to one that takes sales away from their supporters. I wish there was a way to make all of the readers see this because many people take that publication as the gospel on gear. They should do themselves a favor and get their advice from places like BPL or BGT. They are the Consumer Reports of our world and seem to have no vested interest in any manufacturer.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

LOL, great comment. Except Tents are more like the "Short" bus, and the people who won't give a hammock a decent attempt are the riders in the "short" bus.

And one of the testers is a parapeligic, another is a Nun, one is a handgun lobbyist, and the fourth is a convicted felon.
