I saw some camo ripstop on sale at Walmart but it did not list its weight-ie. 1.1, 1.9 et. Is there any way to tell by looking at it.

You can get a feel for it but first you have to known material to compare and get used to. Even so, sometimes it's difficult to tell without weighing. If you are buying it anyways, get an exact measure of the fabric, weigh it and calculate the ounces per square yard weight.

Hmmm this is the formula I have been using I found it on this forum or another but it has been pretty accurate
How to Calculate Strength of Ripstop Nylon
Total Weight in Ounces x 36
/
Length in Yards x Width in Inches
=
Weight [ounces per square yard]
Just scored some of the Digital Camo in the $2 bin at Wal-Mart but its only 1.1oz but i am sure i can find some cool ideas for it .
