    Hi DUCK72,

If you havn't got it in your library already, get yourself a copy of..
'TAKE A WALK in South East Queensland' by John & Lyn Daly.
Covers a lot of maintained & off the beaten track walks.

Page 261 & 258 are ones you need for the info to this area.

Take roughly 5hrs to get there, can be done in a long day trip
but way better off as an overnighter to take in the fading sunset &
    the misty morning sunrise.
Dehydration is an issue so take plenty of water.
Its not a walk in the park, research the area. Main Range National Park,
    Goomburra section.
    http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/parks/main-range/index.html
    http://www.derm.qld.gov.au/parks/mai...ra-oct2010.pdf
Also a bit more info in this forum too....
    http://bushwalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=7035

You'll also need map Townsend 25,000 series

The route....Sylvesters lookout- Laidley falls- Hole in the wall- Boars Head- Mt Castle
    Extract

Google Earth gives you a rough idea of the terrain.....

Hope that helps.....if you need any more info, give me a PM.
    Cheers,
    Ofuros

Great views, and a great spot to hang

    Thanks for taking us along

But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting,

I can see why that could be your favorite walk! wow, it reminds me of our (Arizona's) Mogollon Rim, dare I say with a better view.
    happy solstice!

Really enjoyed the challenging terrain, great views & secluded cliffside campsite on this walk.
