Wow, amazing! Great views. I guess this is why those who risk the most are rewarded with the most. I think I'd try this if I had all the gear, and someone else to belay me

    Thanks for posting.

You have no idea of the forces involved when two trees move apart in the wind. As an engineer, I do. If your suspension system didn't snap, the trees certainly could under the stress of being tied together...
I 100% agree with both of your arguments:

-Using paracord on my hammock is unsafe which is why I now use doubled 6 mil climb spec rope.

-Tying between two trees in the canopy is dangerous even in good weather so this trip was the first and last time I use this technique.

I was just angry when you mentioned that the mods should remove my post because you thought it shows unsafe hammocking when in fact I am showing people how to sleep high off the ground SAFELY. If I edit my original post to state that it is unsafe to hang between two trees would you agree?

I'm probably one of the "90% who didn't listen" when you mentioned winter only. I did listen, and you yourself even mentioned condensation in that thread. I only mentioned it in my post since you asked what we thought.

    Great hang!
Even if you were part of the 90% your input was still appreciated haha. Thanks man!

I really enjoyed this thread up until some people got snippy
and then they run off crying.

Why can there not be civil discourse?

I think 'refreshing' has taken in some points very well.
He Has stated how he would do things differently.
Yet the opposing views still keep grinding or whining.

I think valid points can be noted.
The other 'side' , if you will, notates such. Admits that he was wrong
for instance in defining a tree and we move on.

Everybody learns and everyone can risk as much or as little as they are capable and able.
No need in re-hashing what we did in careless youth.

I can't believe how some people poo poo everything they can't accomplish. As a dad with two dependants, I would try this--with help--any day. The veiws and photos are awsome. My only caveat, make sure someone knows your exact itenerary. It has been said I'm not afraid of dying, I'm afraid of not living. Keep it going young man---LIVE.

I am going to assume that you enjoyed this book thoroughly? I have been looking for a good book now that I face so much darkness during the winter camping months. The summary on that page makes it sound Awesome. Thanks man.

Thanks for posting the pics. That's an awesome way to use a hammock setup. It'll also come in handy if it turns out zombie's can't climb trees.

Sigh! I didn't look at the original post knowing I would likely want to try doing that some day. I got the climbing rope, harness, biners & stuff, but was still able to resist viewing.

Today, I temporarily lost my mind & I looked, then it got worse & I looked at the trip report & pictures.

    Great report, even better pictures!
