Great family picture Shug
For Christmas I got a Garmin 110 GPS watch to measure distance and pace for my rides and walks. Best part is the numbers are large enough and the light bright enough to actually be able to see when hanging
Also got a pair of Merril Refuge boots for snowshoeing. Regular shoes just weren't cutting it anymore
Glad to hear everyone has had a great Christmas, Jeff i am glad to hear you are back, Santa was very good to K.B. and myself in the gear department new Warbonnet edge and ridge-line for K.B and much to my surprise my dear better half gave me a super fly no complaints here!!
Santa gave me a sewi.....I mean thread injector. See what you guys have done to me? When I told Santa I wanted a very basic simple to use thread injector she (my Santa is my wife of course) looked at me like I was nuts. She said, "I don't even want to ask."
Now I have to get some ripstop to start making stuff!
The latest in the Neutron series with a double bottom of Momentum and a LeighLo Tunguska (my name for her deep winter UQ).
The double Neutron lays even nicer than the single as expected. Neutron has added small continuous whoopes in the 2-3 inch range that wrap around the whoopie on the outside and enter the hammock through the gathered end..so a loop is inside for your adjustable ridgeline to attach to or a gear bag or whatever.
The Tunguska has 16 ounces of down wrapped in Momentum. There are many unique and intriguing features the design team at LeighLo quilts came up with to give this 5x50 (5 foot long, 50 inches wide) UQ lots of potential rolls-like the ability to quickly create a foot box when this UQ needs to be TQ and then used as an elephants foot. The added width means never even considering shoulder slip or creating a cold spot on either side as you go from straight to fetal. The color scheme is coyote and pine green and is simply beautiful. Thanks Leigh-and the personal delivery to the hospital was only overshadowed by the sound of the hooves on the roof
Well funny enough none of my Christmas gifts have arrived yet.... But tomorrow I'm expecting a 0* incubator with 2oz of extra down! Im also expecting down pants, a down jacket, and a jet sled jr. to make a pulk in the next couple weeks... Darn shipping times!
The camper formerly known as HikingDad...
Santa was good to me and got me the Jet Boil frypan and group cooking pot. now I can make eggs and pancakes out on the trail. I hate the Mtn House FD eggs.

Spread the love baby, Spread the Love!
Get the Ketchup!
While Santa only brought me a GT SBP and a couple Bushcraft books, the gift cards that come with family's love got me, on the way, a Chinook tarp 12x9.5, a Cold Steel trail hawk, some cash for me to pick up 25' of whoopie sling material which I already made today, and some other misc tools for use in the construction and upkeep of my bushcraft arsenal. The best though, the big bag of pistachios that Santa put in my stocking. I love those little nuts.
A Steripen Freedom! No more 1 pound filter or nasty-tasting chemical water for me!
