    What size would you pick?

Hello again gang. Im trying to decide. I don't have the money to buy a good tarp before next weekend. So I'm thinking that I'm going to use a regular old poly tarp. But I can not seem to get the sizing right. How much over hang should I have on the ends of my hammock (120" whipping to whipping ). I was thinking something 12x12 would give me a little wiggle room on the ends and allow me to tuck the ends to form doors if the weather gets ugly. However, a 12x12 tarp seems to be a mythical beast. 11'6" x15' seems to be the closest compromise with out having to perform major surgery on the tarp (which I'm not adversed to I'm just weary of doing it to the device that will serve to keep me dry )

    So what are your thoughts?

I'm closest of those posting so far. I got a Mac-cat type with a 13' ridgeline. It's currently in Greenhills (just up the road from the N side of the lake) but I'll call the friend who is borrowing it & you can likely use it for your trip. Easy pick up, only a mile or so from I275, so easy pickup, no "shipping cost"
Send me a PM & I'll give him a call.

This place is totally amazing! I've been the participant in MANY forums over the years and the crowd here is by far the nicest! Its refreshing to post a question and nit have everyone talk down to you because you don't have the nicest gear or $800 to spend on the newest water shrugging shell jacket. You guys/gals area simply unbelievable!

I'll definitely take some of you up on your offers. I'll pm everyone off board about the details.

    Again thanks to everyone!

If you don't take any offers of these tarps and still opt to go for a blue poly type tarp, 12'x9' is a pretty commonly sold size. The finished dimensions of the tarp are a little smaller but it should serve the purpose for you.

Have fun at your group hang.

    Cheers
