Thus far I have only used line, but I will try to use these since the tarp seems to get a little lose with time.

I'm using 1.75mm zing-it, haven't needed tensioners yet but have been thinking of adding short shock cord loops to a couple of my stakes.

I recently saw someone adjusting their tarp lines with prussics at the d-rings which I really liked and will do on my own tarp when I have time. Very simple, weight concious and can be adjusted from under the tarp.

I do it the way Bannerstone is sayin. Mine are all locked brummel loops at the stakes and the tieout ends have continuous loops larksheaded to the tarp tieout and prussicked onto the line. Like Bannerstone said you can reach out from under the tarp and snug them down during foul weather. Here are some pics. I saw this on Bonsaihiker's setup at the first annual Hoosier Hang and have used it on mine ever since.

If you throw a loop of shock cord between the tarp tieout and the prussic, you have a tensioner as well.

Better, also, than having the tensioner and/or prussic at the stake if you end up with snow (or bury the stake in pre-existing snow) as the tensioner and prussic will always be above "ground" and accessible to be adjusted.

    My setup since the beginning.

I like that! Gonna get some shock cord and try it.

Tendertoes tarp line setup is golden in my opinion.

I am curious about the need for tarp tensioners on cuben as a protection device for hard winds. Has anyone had a cuben tarp tear from excessive wind and no shock absorbtion?

here's one way ..17 grams total each.. I used 14'' of glow wire giving me about 6 '' above the ground .. I've used it the last 3 nights.. working pretty good... that's 1.75 Zing-It to the tarp... 9 feet
