    Ft. De Soto Park, FL

Went for a hang with my family last week out at Ft. De Soto Park. Amazing time. First, perfect time to visit Florida as the temperature was just right and absolutely no bugs. It only happens about three weeks out of the year, right?

Well, we started the day kayaking around Mullet Key Bayou and saw tons of Mullet jumping around us. We saw a few redfish and a sheepshead. The best part was a pair of dolphins swimming just 20 yards in front of us on a feeding frenzy.

Back at camp, we hung Christmas lights and enjoyed sausages over the fire. We went out for a night paddle and saw bio-luminescence in the water. From the research I've done its pretty rare to see.

Capped off the night with a 50 degree hang with a perfect breeze coming off the water.

Great place to camp in the winter. The photo is the view from my hammock.

Sounds like a great way to spend a day.

We've made it an annual run to that area for our family. Last year was the first time we rented out kayaks at Ft De Soto pk and had a great time, even had a manatee swim up right next to my kayak. This year we're ditching the condo and going hanging instead. Whooooo Buddy!

This is the time of the year when Florida really shines. Sounds like a fantastic trip, especially with the bioluminescence!
