Someone got themselves a GT Nano 7!

I just got a GT Nano 7 for Christmas! Is it safe to use a Whoopie out of 7/64 Amsteel fed directly through the gathered end? I am 5'11" and weight 195-200, I just want to be sure the Amsteel won't rip the fabric.

Congrats. I've wanted one for a long time and still don't know why I haven't pulled the trigger. Hopefully it works well for you. A couple wraps through the channel will do you fine.

A couple wraps through the channel seems to do it. I just did a test hang in the garage. Its got a lot of stretch, which seems more comfortable to me. It held my 200lbs fine and I got a good diagonal lay in it. The suspension seems to hold up well.

I only fed the amsteel through the end channel once and so far no problems. YMMV.

I'm 6.1 and 220 and I just fed it through the "eye" loop of the WS and that was it. No issue thus far...that being said, I have since determined it is way too small for my length and broad shoulders for a good night sleep. So it has since been designated to being my day hike hammock. Super light, and compact-able and works great for taking breaks and eating lunch or a quick nap.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

Just had me a 9' x 4.5' 1.1 ripstop hammock made and I'm stoked to give the 9' length a shot. I'm really partial to my 65" wide traveler but being only 5'7' I feel I need to atleast give a smaller hammock a shot for the sake of saving them ounces. I know the gtul works fine for me but it weighs as much as my traveler.
