WOW ! Great idea with the UQ hooks. My wife and 2 daughters have the HH Expeds with bottom entry only. Make it really difficult to adjust any UQ once you are inside. These hooks really solves this dilemma.

Thanks Dutch. . . will be ordering soon.

    Just a thought Dutch...

When I was envisioning a tarp biner thing, I was thinking of something smaller like a ridge-line hook with a wire gate added. I figured it would have to be bigger though to accommodate adding a wire. Then I got to thinking, if your loops on the ridge are under tension anyway, why need a gate to keep it closed? I figured that it might be simpler to just make the connection with a set of your hooks.

    .......Added..........
How much load do you suppose the aluminum quilt hooks can handle?
You would be fine with the ti Dutch Hooks, but the quilt hooks are just meant to hold a quilt up. I can bent them pretty easily making it easy to adjust.
    Peace Dutch

I suspected that. I tried fabricating a hook from a penny using a dremmel. The metal could not take much of a load at all. I figured aluminum would be fairly malleable.

Got to test my gold Doughnuts over the weekend. Not a rain cloud in sight but there is no way water is sneaking past these babies.

Also played with the quilt hooks. They hook on to amsteel just fine. Made some zing-it whoopies for my pack cover and stuck all my stuff into my attic.

ordered 12 DHooks. hoping to apply to 2 rigs.
My only concern is ---post attaching/sewing to the hammock--- is that I often stuff hammock (Traveler or Neutron) ALONG with my UQ/TP into the same eVent bag....I'd hate to poke a hole in the quilts via the Dutch Hook when stuffing----any concerns here current users?
I also use Triangle Thingies and triangle thingy variants....that's why I ordered 6 per hammock rig...4 for the quilts and 2 to replace the triangle thingy/variants---seem feasible?
