Looking for a post where a guy used tent poles with the "ring and pin" from a tent to go into the pole. No pockets needed. Specifically looking for the length of pole I will need for my rig. Kelly Noah 12. Thanks search ninjas!

I found these about ring and pin pole attachment, but nothing about pole length. I think you will have to measure your tarp with the ring and pins in place. It will be easier to shorten than to lengthen, so start a little long.

Bam! Thanks man!! The length question is driving me batty. I would assume the length would be shorter than the width of the tarp. I'm just trying to avoid buy a ton of extra tent pole.

Just guessing here....I think the length would be the width of the tarp plus the tie out loops plus the split rings. This would fit the pole snug to the tarp all the way across.
Other setups I saw while searching for those posts, used a slightly shorter pole and let the ridgeline support the tarp several inches above the pole at the top. I suppose the downside is a little less headroom under the pole.
