    It most definitely helps. Even a sit-pad-sized piece can give a 5 or 10 F degree boost. I did this about a week ago, when temps got down into the twenties.

    I find that the smaller piece of CCF is easier to manage in the hammock than a larger one. My experience is here if you want to read about it.

    I ended up using reflectix which I cut longer than my UQ, and I have to say it worked PERFECT. It forms to your body nicely, I didn't even notice it was under me. I put it between the two layers of the hammock and it stayed put. Best part is it weighs practically nothing. Plus it was a great wind barrier. I will definitely be sticking with this set up for winter hanging.

    The value

    Just when you thought you should start a thread you read more and find the answer under your nose. Hammock forrums rocks! Sometimes people think I am nuts but hammock forrums confirms that I am not or maybee there is just more crazy people Like me who go out backpacking when the feint of heart are at home. Thats just bar none the best time to get solitude.
