So I cut a 10'5" piece of this ripstop and hemmed around the boarder and threw some whoopies on it and it seems very solid and the width doesnt seem to be a problem. I couldnt notice any stretch either but im only 170 pounds wet so that dont say much Sorry no pictures with me in it I was the only camera man.

Adventurer I sent you a pm

strung out I am sorry but what I had to sell is all gone or will be when details are worked out Thanks and again sorry! good things go fast I guess. It says on the tag: Bainbridge quabatatten 1.5oz ripstop nylon and then it says $2.99 YD. Thanks for your interest.

All gone? Dang, I thought for sure getting in third would score me at least a few leftover yards!

I just got my box from Tillamook (thanks!!!) and he's definitely right in that there is a sort of crinkly consistency to it. I'm definitely not a fabric expert, but based on the other ripstop nylon I have laying around (1.1 & 1.9) I can tell you it feels way more plasticky that either of these. I don't know if that means it has been coated by something (silicone) or calendared, but I think it feels more similar to my WB Mamajamba tarp than my WBBB or the nylon I have lying around. Although it seems to be heavier than the fabric used on the Mamajamba (which I think is 1.1 oz, so 1.3oz silnylon) and feels as though it could take a beating if needed.

Unfortunately, I don't have a gram-counting scale, so I can't weigh it, but I'm wondering if there are any other tests I can do as far as waterproofing. I tried to blow through it, but honestly didn't really know what I was doing or looking for

I am definately no expert just was going off what the tag on it said and that was 1.5 ripstop nylon. I did do some testing with water and its not water proof as I had droplets seeping through it. I had read that the light 1.1 was similar to silk, the med 1.5 was more krinkly like wax paper feel and the heavy 1.9 had a canvas feel. I hope it works for you.

It was a good deal and I'm happy with it, just posting to follow-up and hoping someone smarter than me may have some insight into it

I did find some info on a different forum that talks about sailmaker's cloth and suggests it may be water resistant up 1-2 psi, so I'm wondering if that's what this is. Even more so if it had Bainbridge on the tag.
