Bug nets?

My Aunt gave me an eno singlenest hammock...it is amazing.
I have beed looking at accessories for the single nest, and well they are just a little bit out of my price range. Please let me know if you have knowleg in this field, can I rig a standard ground bug net for my singlenest or do you know of any nets at affordable prices, I live in Florida...we are practically swimming in Mosquitos down here. a bugnet is going to run you around $50 .....
you could make something out of some netting from an Army navy store but weight will be a problem.... if you get the netting from a vendor after shipping and cost of putting it together you will find it cost as much as one from per say Papasmurf ...
really want it comes down to is yes there are cheap ways... but like most ppl you will end up spending the money for something better... so in the end it really costs you more

There are many DIY options, and commercial options.

Search the DIY section for bugnet.

If you are only battling mosquitoes, some have had luck with tulle, though I find it really fragile.

There are two basic bugnet styles: Socks and well... not socks.

Socks are a tube that you keep at one end of your hammock, get in, and slide over you. You then cinch the open end closed. Offers complete protection, but none during the transition...

There are many styles of non-socks. Personally, I like the side entry designs, or the type that is basically a curtain with a drawstring around the bottom. It goes up an over a ridgeline, and has a bottom entry. THe bottom is cinched to seal. Coverage is similar to a sock, if you have an underquilt.

All of my hammocks that have nets are built-in. I sewed bugnet to one side, and zippered down the other. Velcro works, too, but is a pain.

material: Tulle is popular if you have only mosquitoes. No-See-ums require better netting. (DIYGearsupply.com has no-see-um mesh cheap) my local Joann's had mosquito netting that was white (black is better, so I dyed it with spray dye) and was really wide (like 90something inches) it was wide enough to make a sock or other without much sewing.

Again, search around the DIY thread, if you have access to a sewing machine or know somebody that can do it for you.
