    My Two Bits

As bugs really are a seasonal issue, I have a WBBB for the bug season (which is usually when weather is better and so I am out more). And I have a GTUL for when the weather is cooler and the bugs aren't out. Either way, I don't need a separate bug net (though I have one that I use with my Bivy).

eh, I personally don't find it hard to attach a bugnet to a hammock.. I imagine it comes down to proficiency, doing it over and over.

As for weight? I imagine there's more weight in the zipper of an attached bugnet than the extra no see-um.. I'm guessing, but I'd go all in on it.

Integrated-- one less thing to fiddle with it probably weighs more if you bring it separately.

I have several hammocks with integrated nets, but I rarely use them. Most of the time (during bug season) I just take a few yards of plain noseeum netting and drape it over my ridgeline and hold it in place with a few small stones held in place by rubber bands. It weighs less than five ounces, and it can be removed or deployed or left behind as needed.
It also allows me to use whatever type of insulation that I want (peapods and hammock socks do not work well with integrated bug nets).

I finished my 1st bugnet that is separate and it fully encloses the hammock using Pip's TED design. I made it from tulle (found some manly dark brown color at JoAnns). I used 3/32" nylon shockcord for a total weight of 3.0 oz. including a heavy stuff sack.
I'm very pleased with it. The first time I deployed it, I fiddled around a lot. But, I reset it up about 3 times and by then it was a piece of cake.

here's few pics of the Fronkey Design I made...had a gust of wind come in so it shows how well the design seals around the hammock .. entry/exit isn't a problem .. my only concern with the design was the ability to sit in the hammock with the BugNet installed .. after building it and using it .. this is no-longer a concern .. I have no problems sitting inside my hammock with the BugNet installed .. Thanks again for sharing Fronkey !!

During bug season it's the WBBB all the way. Skeeters can be fierce around here! Winter I like my netless DIY hammock, so I can adjust the UQ from inside the hammock. Of course, the netless one needs a separate net just in case I want to use or loan it.

Hell, I can't even agree with myself on this one, a rare talent.

It looks awesome man! It's still so cool to me to see people making these. Mine served me great this past season and I hope you have the same success. Great job dude!
