testing UL winter setup

LOL, neither was I. We do get some snow here, but I didn't expect that - and it was out of character for the area.

I was just looking at your list and it looks like you are expecting warmer temps then I was on my winter hike.

I'm thinking for my next winter sub 10 trying over at Wigg Meadow and such in Cherokee.

This week predictions for low/nighttime temps in that area is Mon/18, tues/20 & wed/27.

If it were to be in single digit temps at night I would prepare with more layers to sleep in at night.

So when I say winter those in MN or Canada or other colder weather locations may call it spring temps

speaking of clothes. Next weekend I might go out in train as you fight mode. meaning I wear what I wear when I'm in uniform. Tho when I'm with state guard - half the time I can usually hop in the car & sleep but will be good practice.

re: amsteel tree straps. its regular blue amsteel where I use sticks under the lines. Have thought about trying a piece of reflectix -- might test it later today. However, have never noticed any tree damage. I have more concern about my tarp ridgeline seems to be tighter around the trees than my hammock setup - even when I am laying in it.

That's a neat idea, a bit of a dumb question but how many sticks do you need to slip under the amsteel?

What do you use to attach the whoopies to the tree straps? Is this where the biner comes in? Any chance of a piccy?

Sounds good. We can meet somewhere around the North Ga or TN boarder. I think it would make for a good hang. There may be some other UL around that want to get in. The DRT, BMT, and AT create lots of opportunities.

Note - I am 110lbs and have no idea what my suspension would be rated to. but I'm confident with my weight my suspension is safe for me. this may not work for other depending on your weight & if you ate as much as I did tonight
