Anyone ever try this kind of hammock?

...or for that matter, this kind of hanging?

I suppose you don't have to worry about a horned animal running through your hammock in the middle of the night or a limb breaking off and hitting you, but then again you do have to worry about hanging rocks breaking loose above you and having enough time to read a short story after falling out of your hammock before you hit the ground.

Seen tents that set up on big walls. Never done either & don't think I ever will but it's impressive

That picture just confirms to me why I could never rock climb like that, let alone sitting in a hammock over a void... gives me vertigo just looking at it.

seems the older I get, the more the fear factor kicks in, and you have to combat that as a primary issue,,so I can definitely say that I wouldn't try it, or ever climb again,

I have always admired those folks that do that. However, I toss & turn in my sleep a lot. Behavior that's not suitable for the circumstances.
Anyone ever dream that they are falling? The difference is, you always wake up before you hit the ground!

about 40 yrs ago in my mid & late 20s used to do a lot of backpacking and tech climbing, along with good sense not yet evicting the idea of immortality, we would climb and stay in rope hammocks with gear, everyone stayed level with each other as u didn't want to be below anyone for, obvious reasons. I didn't sleep well like i do now, i can assure you. Just different experiences we all have, i laugh now thinking of how so often we thought you were supposed to be cold and miserable as part of the "outdoor experience", also didn't have nearly the equip or knowledge available now. Anyway my 2 cents.

At first I thought 'that's an interesting hammock, flatter than a bridge'. After looking at it a while, it's actually more like a cot without legs. It just happens to be suspended from above.

I imagine the frame is fairly heavy, by lightweight standards, but you could hang it from the trunk of a single tree. There are definitely some possibilities there. I'll have to do a little more research on this one...
