    Over night at Fort Toulouse

My son and I went on a quick over night trip to Fort Toulouse. It's a national historic sight with a French and American fort, as well as some Indian mounds and such. Nice quiet place, not very crowded and lots of cool history. Stayed toasty warm in my DIY 3/4 UQ, 5 oz climashield. I also layered in a single layer of IX for extra insurance. Got down to 38 degrees and I was toasty warm indeed. Also tried out my Vargo Hexagon stove some more, still like my alcohol burner though so far. We had a great time and will surely go back.

Looks like ya'll were having a great time. Another one of Alabama's historic sites we will need to see someday.

    Awesome

Thanks for taking us all along. Beautiful place for a father & son to spend some quality time. Hoping to do some of the same this year, with my little buddy.

I didn't realize you could camp there. I've only been in there once or twice to hit the boat ramp.

I need to get back over there for a camping trip soon.

Yep, first time we camped. It was not the best in choice of trees, but several sites were fine. It was really quiet, especially considering 231 is less than 3 miles away.

We will be back I am sure.

    Very interesting place for sure.
My Dad took me camping a lot. Still my favorite memories of him. He showed me that way to some good fun.
    Your doing real good there.
