Skinning or BB bagging the tarp separate makes sense. Why wrap a wet tarp around your dry hammock? Plus I'm assuming most people hang there tarp and hammock separately? I haven't been able to hang a tight tarp attaching it to the hammock direct (Hennessy ULBP). It looses tension when I get into the hammock.
Seems like every time I've set up the hammock the winds been a blowin'. The use of skins or BB bag would make life easier. Now thinking maybe skins for the tarp only. Stuff the hammock and attached Nest/Weather Shield into the JRB provided stuff sack. Next windy condition set-up "experiment" is to see if the tarp will provide enough wind protection to easily hang the hammock.
Thinking about the Speers Winter Tarp. What size SnakeSkins for just the tarp? No sewing machine or understanding how to use one. So I spend the $$$s. Anyone retailing BB bags made out silnylon? Will just "burning/melting" a hole in silnylon hold up?
