Hey I think I got it! Haha. Seeing as how I'm a shorty go figure that was the problem. I think I was picking trees too far apart, too close together, my suspension was hung too low. I think I just needed to play around with it a lot more. I think my patients wears thin when it's 15 degrees outside and dark trying to mess with a new suspension system. Thanks for all the info. I don't mind the Eno now, although I suspect I'll be happier with a different hammock than an Eno sometime down the road, like a blackbird or lite owl. Thanks again gang

Great topic thanks for bringing it up. I have had my to so tight it Plays a tune lol. I think I'm getting to a point where I just need a much bigger hammock. My lay isn't to bad and I'm 6'1 but I think it could be better.

Since Jan. I have done away with the Eno DN and went the DIY route. I made a gathered end hammock at a finished length of 11' and I find it is much easier to adjust for comfort that the ENO ever was. Never mind how much cheaper it was!

Before I ran across the 83% rule for a structural ridge line I did a little bit of geometry. Because we know the length of two sides of the triangle, (half the width of the total length of hammock and straps/slings is the length of one side). And we know two of the angles (30 degrees where the hammock meets the ridgeline) Google triangle calculator to get the the tool to find the third side which is the ridge line.

I am sure you could do it all on paper with cosines and Pythagoras but Google was quicker. I only mentions this, because by doing it this way you can change that 30 degree number if you want to get the ridge line length, or you could reverse the process to get the angle if you wanted to. Plus as an added bonus I know my hammock's ridge line has to be at least 4 ft of the ground to keep my but out of the dirt based on its dimensions and the Pythagorean theorem.
