I drape my book over the ridgeline (also holds my place), hang my headlight with a larkshead in the strap, close an arm of my glasses over the ridgeline by the headlight, hang my shoes by tying the laces together with a slipknot and draping over the ridgeline at one end. Everything else is in the pack hanging from one end of the hammock where I can get to it in the morning; I don't need it at night.
The more I do this stuff, the more I realize that a lot of what I think I need I really don't need. You need the right things, and you don't need the rest.
