How short is your hammock? A rectangular 8X10 with part of carved off for doors might cover less than 8 feet of hammock. If you look at the zpacks and hammockgear designs, the sides extend beyond the ridgeline to provide the doors.

    Shug

Does your hammock and insulation brush up against the tarp with the doors closed? That looks pretty snug.

    Shug

From that first set of photos, I never would have guessed that there is room for a full sized Shug!

My ridgeline is set at 80 inches right now and at most I have it at 100" Which would still give me 10" of extra room on either end and 4 feet for each side, which would be a palace compared to Shugs. I'm now actually looking at having something similar to your black tarp Shug, only in cuben and also a poncho. I'm really considering making some GrizzBeaks to go with instead of doors so I can choose but I'm going to have to try out the pitch you got there!

Ok friends looking at a 9x6x5 hex poncho tarp. I will make 2 grizzbeaks for bad weather as well. Any bigger will not be wearable. Thoughts?
