I am wondering how everybody here does the omnitape footbox on their quilts. You can either attach the left and right strips of velcro on the same side of the quilt, or put one on the top side and one on the bottom. The second method should give a smoother feel when closed, but I don't recall seeing any mention of placing the velcro on opposite sides of the quilt in any DIY instructions. Has anybody tried this?
The JRB quilts I have and other I have seen, the Velcro is on the same side and it gives you a seam that sticks out. When I made my quilt I put the Velcro on opposite sides of the quilt so that the seam would be flat when the Velcro is stuck together.

That was exactly my thinking. The seam on the quilt I have with velcro on the same side is bulky and bothers me at times. On my latest quilt, I have not installed the velcro yet, but plan to do so tonight. Since you have both, which way do you like better?Originally Posted by headchange4u
