Keeping an Under Quilt in place.

Has anyone ever tryed using a safety pin to keep and under quile in place? I hate waking up in the middle of the night cold becouse it slid to one side.

never a safety pin but i've ran another shock cord up and over the ridge line, triangle thingies or you could use a dutch hook. i would think a safety pin might make a hole over time unless the nylon was re-enforced with something.

a mitten hook and some shockcord is what i use to tether the quilt to my hammock, via loops/tieouts that come stock with both the quilt and hammock design. never had a slip.

Is the quilt sliding off your shoulder or is it sliding head to foot ways?

If it's going head to foot ways, try taking shockcord that you most likely have coming from tightening up the either head end or foot end and tie it into a pretty bow to the main suspenion shockcord going towards the trees.

If it's sliding off your shoulder, tighen up the main suspenion shockcords on the side that's slipping.

Keep working at it, I've found that it's a matter of tweeking it just right and then you're good to go. I've also found that what works at one temp may need some more tweeking when it gets considerably colder.

I do not like the idea of safety pins - possible stab injuries, and the thought of having metal anchoring my lovely HG quilts makes me uneasy - possible tearing?
