Not to Hijack a thread, but we have a factory in Mountain Home. Last year I beat about in the mountains for a day hike and I fell in love. It's rough walking for a fatboy but the views and the air...anyways... I am coming back in June for work and I am thinking of taking vacation while I am there and enjoying a 2-3 day trek.

Is there a "must see" trail or quiet out of the way place a lone hiker can get some air time under his hammock that you would recommend?

There are hundreds of options but June can be tough some years due to snow. This year is not looking that way so far with very little snow in the mountains overall but last year we had some of the biggest snow storms of the year in the spring. Drop me a PM with what you would like.....trail wise, lake?, stream?, so on and I could point you towards some options.

Oh I want to make it this year! Not much of a hiker though (flatlander in the mountains trying to breath? I don't think so!) and have never backpacked so I'll probably base camp somewhere and travel a wee bit to fish each day. If any want to join me I'll have coffee ready each evening (or cocktails!).

Would be cool to have you come out Millarky. There are lots of places close by to be able to fish, plenty of them perfect for Tenkara.

Really wanted to make this, but I think it overlaps my planned trip to the Wonderland Trail... If my plans fall through I may drive over and join.

I'd love to go. Either one would be great!

I'll be in the Jedidiah Wilderness of west Wyoming (south of Yellowstone) for a week in mid-August; it'll just depend on my wife's willingness to let me go again that soon.

It'd be ideal if fellow Utahn's were willing to carpool.

I might have to do that in order to get there. If you can make it, I'm sure we can work something out.
