Choosing a hammock for someone...

Hey all!

Looking for some opinions and advice here.

Oldest son's birthday is coming up. He's not a hanger...yet. Looking to slowly but surely convert my last two sons.

So, with that said. I'm looking for a decent hammock for $100 tops, new as a b-day gift for said oldest. Would prefer something pretty durable, and preferably with attached bug-netting. We've got some extra tree straps and two extra tarps for the HH expedition that we can probably use for him initially.

Here's the real twist.

He's 6'3" and about 230lbs.

Can't afford a WBBB or HH ED for him at this point...as mentioned, $100 plus S&H is gonna be the limit.

Suggestions?

I'd go with a grand trunk double (can almost always find them on sale for cheap) with a warbonnet bugnet or maybe see if you can get a PapaSmurf one. That should get you where you need to go for $100. May not be attached bugnet but serves the same function for a better price. Hope this helps, JMO

I have no experience with either, but how about a GT Skeeterbeeter Pro or a Mosquito Free Hammock Bliss
