Got to add a ditto. Great report, great photos. As others have said, you were fortunate to have cell service. Up here in the frozen north, you don't have to go too far before it is gone.

The best laid plans--sometimes end up different! Good for you hanging in there and hanging out there. Getting there and getting home can also be part of the adventure. Thanks for sharing your story--sure there will be more to come.
Many folk would have packed up and left with your friend. Congrats on the impromptu solo. That takes stones to stick it out.
I know that sinking feeling of a dead battery after a trip, I did a bwca solo this fall and got back to my dead car late. Luckily a couple was on a day trip and got to the parking lot as I was ready to start walking towards civilization.

Very Good lost....I'm fixin to do what you just did, a solo and a first hang....Took some nads to stay the course when your buddy had to leave...Good grub, a dead battery, and a good story....
