The way I look at it is " How many pairs of undies do you have?"

I have my lightweight hammock for long hikes, my ripstop hammock with micro fleece lining for car camping, my BIG hammock for at home, my spares for loaning out, ect. ect. Then there is the commercial ones I bought to try out but didn't quite like as much as my DIYs or made a clone of and resell. Then there is the spare DIYs to give as gifts.

How many hammocks do I own, hmmm, depends on the day. Right now I think I have approx. 30.

Cannot sleep in more than one hammock at a time. Never would consider packing more than one hammock. One no net, one with built in net is actually one more than I really need. But it's convenient to have a season/condition specific option.

Have owned a total of 4 hammocks, but not at the same time.

I currently have one that I use. Well, I also have another that I'm giving to a friend once he has a chance to go to a place where we can set it up. I've made two and given them as presents. I plan on making more and keeping them around just to let other people use, but I'm fine with the one I have currently.

I had 4 at one point, then got down to just one. I now have 2, 'cause 1 was lonely.

Why would I have just one hammock when I have seven underquilts? That's just crazy talk!
Besides, getting an extra hammock means that I need to get another tarp which means that I need another UQ which means.....
Well at least no one asked about stoves!

I'm good with (3) I got two Hennessy Explorer Deluxe (one zip and one bottom) and a Warbonnet Blackbird.

My question to you sir is-- how many tarps is enough. I keep buying them -- someone stop me. Please.

Tarps is a whole other discussion. You can never have enough tarps.
