    Time to lose weight?

Seems my *** is strong enough to bend steel.

I've had this rig attached to the concrete walls in my condo for the past 9 months or so and most nights spent at least an hour in it reading/napping.

I was changing out my rigging to test my new diy and was shocked to find the steel ring bent open. Doesn't look good but I'm sure the bending just made the metal stronger (that and the hammock hangs above my bed so the risk of self mutilation is minimal).

Is it too late for a new years resolution?

I've said it over and over...that Chinese made hardware store stuff is not for hanging anything of value. It's cheap for a reason.

So, is that a broken weld, or is the weld intact?

It's never too late for the New Years resolution. However, if you have some amsteel lying around, I would consider make a couple soft shackles to replace that welded ring or make continuous loops to and clip your carabiner to that.

Of course we know he was doing some dynamic load testing in his hammock.

No offense to BW, but I would caution against running amsteel through that anchor. Looks to me that it may pinch and cut (shear) any line under tension. Even with the bed underneath falling twice might bruise you ego beyond repair.
