Okay just a heads up on a few items you might not want to forget.
-Water - there is no water hook ups at this camp. Source is close (.2 miles) but must be filtered.
-Cook pot and utensils - your normal cookset as non will be provided
-Chair - for relaxing by the camp fire
-bug spray - mosquitoes will be out during the day. Looks like night time temps will keep them away
-gear - Anything cool you might want to show off. Anyone interested in a gear show and tell
-DIY gear - I love seeing what others have done, bring it and show off your skills
If anyone can think of anything else please post it. I an getting excited, can't wait to meet all of y'all.
Yosemite Sam: Are you trying to make me look a fool?
Bugs: You don't need me to make you look like a fool.
Yosemite Sam: Yer deerrrnnn right I don't!
So after some deliberation I got SwampSloth cooking his Chicken and Sausage Gumbo for the Saturday evening. Its a pot luck so bring what you can.
For entertainment anyone with a skill will be welcome to perform. If not you can listen to me drone on about all sorts of nonsense. Just ask SwampSloth and Old River Rat.
Also I will pm the mods to change the name of this thread to 2nd Annual Louisiana Spring Hang as to not conflict with past and or future hang threads.

As much as I hate to say it. At this time, things are starting to look iffy for me to attend. My bride of 43 years has severe rheumatoid arthritis and gets embril shots to relieve the pain and allow movement. At this point she is about a week from the next shot and is having a hard time with her hands and shoulders. If it doesn’t get any better with advil, I will have to miss the hang and be available to help her.
Still hoping but looking iffy.
And I just bought all the makings for my KILLER Corn Chowder.
What time and place are you guys and gals going to start wild azElia trail. Would like to attend but had some things to do early sat morning.
Gonna start hanging Friday before noon until Sunday

So we are a day out and its looking like a wet day tomorrow but a great weekend after that. If anyone could bring dry wood it will be appreciated. I will load 20 or 30 split logs tonight, saves from having to do mush searching. Don't forget a camp chair to sit around and listen to me and my twin brother tell goofy stories. If you need a translator check with SwampSloth or old River Rat.
Can't wait to meet you guys and eat and be merry.

I'll more than likely be there later this afternoon/night, see you guys when you get there.
Word of warning, right after the pavement ends they dug a ditch across the road. It has a barrier for part, go close to the mud, the middle is probably 5-6in deep.
it is nearly midnight and i am still preparing. i did not leave work today until nearly 8. that is usual when i have stuff to do after work. i won't be able to get there as early as i wanted friday. but i will make it by noon. i am bringing the best apple cobbler that can be made. a friend of my is a caterer and he made it for me. it is to die for. i will also be bringing the garlic bread for the catfish court bullion and gumbo. saturday i am making candied yams. i feel sorry for the people who are not going to make this hang. it is going to be a louisiana gathering that can only be experienced in true cajun country. it cannot be exported or duplicated outside our state. be ready for the trip reports.
